Prize Mechanics

  1. Promo period is from December 9, 2022 to December 31, 2022.
  2. This promo is open to Viu subscribers and non-subscribers.
  3. How to play
    1. All participants will be required to log-in to the microsite via their Facebook account in order to participate. Each participant may register one Facebook account only.
    2. The entire quiz will be played in a “fill in the blank” style. Participants are to type in their answer on the blank space provided. Answers will not be case-sensitive.
    3. Users will be given 90 seconds for the entire duration of the quiz. In that span of time, participants will be challenged to type as many correct answers as possible.
    4. Participants must answer correctly in order to proceed to the next question. There will be PASS options.
    5. Based on how many correct answers the participant gets, s/he will be awarded a corresponding K-Drama Tier.
      1. 0 – 10 correct answers correspond to a “Newbie Tier”
      2. 11 – 20 correct answers correspond to a “Casual Tier”
      3. 21 – 30 correct answers correspond to a “Superfan Tier”
    6. Users can take the quiz again. Questions will be shuffled.
    7. Should participants decide to take the quiz again, the system will count the highest scoring game registered to the Facebook account. If the participant gets a higher score in the second attempt, the participant will be counted as having that tier. If the participant gets lower scores in subsequent quiz attempts, the participant retains his/her highest previous tier.
    8. Each Tier they get will unlock a badge that they can share as post to their Facebook profile.
  4. How to get raffle entries
    1. Each participant earns the following raffle entries for every tier unlocked:
      1. 3 raffle entry – unlocking the Newbie Tier
      2. 6 raffle entries – unlocking the Casual Tier
      3. 9 raffle entries – unlocking the Superfan Tier
    2. Each participant may only earn raffle entries for achieving a tier once. Multiple quizzes that achieve the same or lower tier will not earn additional raffle entries.
    3. Participants will earn the raffle entry allocation for the lower tier should initial quiz attempts result in a higher tier. However, s/he will not earn repeat raffle entries for lower tiers should subsequent attempts earn high tiers. For example, a participant that earns Casual tier at first attempt earns a total of 9 raffle entries covering the raffle entry allocation for both the earned tier (Casual) and lower tier (Newbie). However, if the same participant earns Superfan tier in their next attempt, they will only earn the 9 raffle entries allocated to the Superfan tier having already earned the previous raffle entries.
    4. Participants may also earn additional raffle entries through the following:
      1. 1 raffle entry: for each time participant clicks on a title in the recommended playlist; maximum 5 raffle entries earned
    5. Participants may earn a maximum of 23 raffle entries.
    6. Participants can track their earned raffle entries on their “My Profile” page of the microsite together with their quiz log history.
    7. Raffle entries qualify participants for all prizes regardless of highest tier achieved.
    8. Viu reserves the right to hold, suspend or block participants accounts due to suspicious activity.

  6. Drawing of Winners
    1. To win the subscription pins, posters, and/or the Samsung devices, a winners will be drawn during the promo day: January 13, 2023 at 3pm via Zoom link with the presence of a DTI representative.
    2. For each prize, a winner will be drawn equivalent to the prize quantities indicated in section V.B.1-14.
    3. A member can only win a prize once. In the event a participant is drawn twice, a new winner chosen. For example, User A got picked for a subscription pin twice, User A will only get one subscription pin and there will be a re-draw for the other subscription pin.
    4. The winner will be electronically drawn and will undergo a verification process.
    5. Viu reserves the right to verify the eligibility of the winning raffle entry. In the event that the winner is disqualified, Viu reserves the right to re-draw until a winner is found.
  7. Notification of winners
    1. Raffle draw winners will be notified by Viu via email, followed by SMS and website announcements in the next 24 hours. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact winners for no more than 72 hours after that, based on the information that the participant provided. Should the initial winner fail to respond to notification attempts, fails to meet any of the eligibility requirements or is unable to comply with the terms and conditions, Viu has the absolute right to forfeit said prize or disqualify the entrant and offer the prize to the next eligible entrant and thereafter until a winner is found.
    2. The winner shall receive the prize via online channels (vouchers) or pickup (gadgets) upon verification. Winners will be contacted by the team for further instructions. For those in a different region, the prize/s will be sent to our on-ground local coordinators who will handle the releasing and documentation.
    3. Viu reserves the right to cancel, amend, or revoke some winners as well as these terms and conditions without notice in the event of fraudulent activity, cheating, a security breach or any anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation, an event or disturbance outside of Viu’s control such as acts of God, civil or military events, catastrophes, or war. Any changes to the competition will be announced accordingly.
    4. Any disqualified winners will forfeit their prize in favor of Viu.
    5. By participating in the raffle, winners agree to cooperate with and participate in any advertising or publicity activities of Viu relating to the draw. The winner agrees that Viu may publicize the name and photograph of the winner in such mode and manner as Viu considers fit (i.e. The winner’s name to be published on the Viu website and social media pages).
    6. Viu will shoulder the winner’s tax relating to the raffle prize.
    7. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to hold Viu free and harmless from any loss, injury, or damage caused by or arising from his/her participation in the program or caused by or arising from his/her acceptance and/or use of the prize.
  8. Employees of Viu, TBWA\SMP, or any of its related partners for this draw, their relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity or affinity and any other party who are directly involved in organizing, promoting or conducting the draw are not eligible to join the raffle.
